1995 NBA draft first round pick (#28 overall)
- Utah took him 28th overall in 1995 and he gave the club nine straight seasons. His contract ran out in 2004 and he signed with Sacramento, where the minutes dried up. The August 2005 five-team trade brought him home, and he retired here to a standing ovation.
- Started at centre in both the 1997 and 1998 NBA Finals.

- New Jersey's fourth overall pick in 1988 arrived in 1995 with a reputation that followed him — he and Jerry Sloan nearly came to blows at practice. - Already once the last man cut from a Jazz camp, he came back in 1995 and stayed five seasons and two Finals runs. Utah knew it could not re-sign him — Kevin O'Connor said so plainly — and moved him to Dallas in a four-team deal in 2000, taking Donyell Marshall back. He returned on a one-year deal in 2004.
- Started for Utah during Stockton's injury absence in 1997–98, helping the team to the best record in the league.
- Background: Summer 2000, a four-team trade: Eisley goes to Dallas, Adam Keefe to Golden State, a 2001 first-round pick to Boston, and Utah takes Donyell Marshall and Bruno Sundov. source

- THE END OF THE FIRST STINT — the Jazz RELEASE him in early October 1995: 'Early this month the Utah Jazz called and laid him off.' The reason, given by Scott Layden (director of basketball operations): 'You look for a player who can grow' — the club does not want to stand still. The spot as Stockton's backup goes to Howard Eisley (Jamie Watson is also mentioned in the article). source
