Utah drafted the South Carolina forward 47th overall in 1994, and the 6-foot-7, 190-pound swingman spent most of his NBA time with the Jazz through 1997, plus a brief Dallas stop and three games for Miami in 1999.
His one turn on the national stage came at All-Star Weekend 1995, when he took third place in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest — rare flight time for a young Jazz reserve.
HOW HE CAME & WENTUtah drafted him 47th overall in 1994. Injuries and roster math kept his minutes thin — 16 games in 1995-96, 13 more the next season — and the Jazz waived him in March 1997, after which he caught on with Dallas.
