No player in NCAA history led Division I in rebounding three straight seasons until Millsap did it at Louisiana Tech. The Jazz stole him 47th overall in 2006, and he repaid them with an All-Rookie season, all 82 games played, and a 194-game streak to open his career. When Carlos Boozer went down in 2008-09, Millsap stepped in at 15.9 points and 10.3 rebounds — and one November night in 2010 he dropped 46 on Miami, including 11 points in the final 28 seconds of regulation.
Louisiana's 2003 Mr. Basketball out of Grambling High left Utah in 2013 and became a four-time All-Star in Atlanta, stretching a second-round pick into a 16-season NBA career.
HOW HE CAME & WENTUtah took him 47th overall in 2006 and he immediately outplayed the slot. In July 2013 the club renounced his rights — clearing the room for the Golden State salary-dump trade that brought in picks — and handed the front line to Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter. He signed with Atlanta.
