Grambling, Louisiana raised four basketball-playing brothers — Elijah, John, Abraham and four-time All-Star Paul. Elijah's path was the hardest: undrafted out of UAB in 2010, he ground through the D-League, China and the Philippines before Utah signed him to a 10-day contract in January 2015. He stuck for a full year of defense-first minutes before being waived the next January.

He last suited up for the College Park Skyhawks in 2022.

HOW HE CAME & WENTHe signed a 10-day contract on January 5, 2015, the first in the league that season, debuted the same night, and got a multi-year deal on January 25. Exactly one year later the Jazz waived him, just before his salary for the season would have become guaranteed.
