Junior colleges and UNLV led to the 1998 lottery — Orlando took Clark 13th and dealt him to Denver. A gifted shot-blocker, he swatted a Raptors-record 12 in one game in 2001 and averaged 11.3 points in 2002. His Utah stay in 2003–04 lasted exactly two games before a trade to Phoenix, where he never suited up.
The struggle behind the numbers surfaced later. Clark admitted he 'never played a game sober,' drinking up to a pint of gin daily during his career. He lives today in his hometown of Danville, Illinois.
HOW HE CAME & WENTHe played two games for the Jazz before being traded to Phoenix on February 19, 2004 with Ben Handlogten, in the deal that brought Tom Gugliotta to Utah.
