Wake Forest had not seen a 600-point season since Tim Duncan until Collins delivered one in 2016-17, earning ACC Most Improved Player honors. Atlanta drafted him 19th, and he spent six seasons as the Hawks' high-flying forward, making the All-Rookie Second Team and once grabbing 25 rebounds in a game, before Utah acquired him for 2023 through 2025. He now plays for Detroit.
Born in Layton, Utah, to a Navy father and an Air Force mother, Collins spent his childhood on bases in the Virgin Islands, Guam and Turkey, playing soccer wherever the family landed. He remains an avid supporter of Chelsea in the Premier League.
HOW HE CAME & WENTAtlanta dumped his $78 million contract on Utah for Rudy Gay and a second-round pick in July 2023. After two seasons and 108 games the rebuilding Jazz sent him to the Clippers on July 7, 2025 for Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson.
