Dee Brown

'The One-Man Fast Break,' the Chicago press dubbed him, and Dee Brown earned it at Illinois — a consensus First-Team All-American on the 37–2 squad that reached the 2005 NCAA final, Sporting News National Player of the Year that season, and a Sports Illustrated cover subject that March. The 2006 Bob Cousy Award followed, and Utah selected him in the second round of the 2006 draft.

A broken foot at the 2005 pre-draft camp had already rerouted his career once, sending him back to school for a senior year. His professional path ran through international leagues from 2007 to 2015, and he has since moved into college coaching.

HOW HE CAME & WENTUtah drafted him 46th overall in 2006 with no guaranteed contract, so he made the roster out of camp. When Washington signed him to an offer sheet in July 2008 the Jazz, already deep at point guard, declined to match.
