Bob Hansen

An Iowa kid through and through — a state title at Des Moines Dowling, the 1980 Final Four with the Hawkeyes — Hansen went 54th to Utah in 1983 and stayed seven seasons, a starter by 1985–86 who never missed the playoffs as a Jazzman. The 1990 trade that brought Jeff Malone to Utah sent him to Sacramento.

His last season was the sweetest. Backing up Michael Jordan on the 1991–92 Bulls, he opened the fourth quarter of Finals Game 6 with a three-pointer and a steal that sparked the title-winning comeback. He retired with the ring and went home to broadcast Iowa Hawkeyes basketball, which he still does.

HOW HE CAME & WENTUtah drafted him 54th overall in 1983 and he gave the club seven seasons. In June 1990 he and Eric Leckner went to Sacramento in the three-team deal built to bring Jeff Malone in — a third scorer beside Stockton and Karl Malone.
