Podgorica's Buducnost club raised him, and the Jazz drafted the Montenegrin swingman 19th overall in 2003. His rookie season in Utah — 4.8 points across 79 games — was his only one there before Charlotte took him in the expansion draft and flipped him to Cleveland a day later. There he peaked, starting all 20 games of the Cavaliers' run to the 2007 NBA Finals.

Serbian fans traded an urban legend that he won LeBron James's BMW in a game of one-on-one. The truth, Pavlovic admitted, was simpler — he just bought the car, and still owned it as of 2020. After ten NBA seasons and two more in Europe, he moved to the executive side of the game.
