A North Carolina Tar Heel taken in the first round by Sacramento in 1991, Chilcutt won a ring with the 1994–95 Houston Rockets. The Alabama-raised forward stretched a nine-year career across seven franchises. His final NBA season, 1999–2000, began with the Jazz and went on with the Clippers and Cavaliers.

Then he traded locker rooms for classrooms, teaching sixth-grade math and science at Folsom Middle School in California, and founded the Clutch City Basketball Academy in the greater Sacramento area — a working teacher who happens to own a championship ring.

HOW HE CAME & WENTHe signed a one-year contract on October 3, 1999, played 26 games as a reserve and was waived that January.
