Berkeley remembers the scorer — two-time first-team All-Pac-10, with 1,700 points that rank third in California Golden Bears history. The NBA proved harder: undrafted in 2010, Christopher played in Turkey and France and toiled for the Iowa Energy before Utah signed him in December 2014. Four games and a knee injury later, his NBA chapter closed.

Compton shaped the second act. In 2019 he founded Sloan and Bennett, a luxury menswear brand named for the cross streets of his childhood home. The game stayed in the family — his brother Josh plays professionally, and former NBA forward Tayshaun Prince is his godbrother.
