At Tennessee Tech, Murphy hung 50 points on SIU Edwardsville in January 2012 — the highest single-game total by any Division I player that season. The Jazz drafted him 47th that summer, and he split his rookie year between Utah and the D-League's Reno Bighorns before departing in the 2013 three-team trade built around Andre Iguodala.
Few Jazzmen have played in more places since: France, Japan, China — where he once scored 67 points in a game — Croatia, the Philippines, Kuwait and Libya, plus a BIG3 MVP award in 2022. He plays today for Sagesse Club in Lebanon.
HOW HE CAME & WENTUtah took him 47th overall in 2012, re-signed him in August 2014 and waived him that October before the season.
