Madrid-born and named the ACB's Best Young Player with Estudiantes, Hernangómez went 15th to Denver in the 2016 draft. His seven NBA seasons ended in Utah, acquired at the February 2022 deadline and waived that June, before he returned to Europe and won the 2024 EuroLeague title with Panathinaikos.
For Spain he owns 2019 World Cup gold and the EuroBasket 2022 crown, where he poured in a game-high 27 points in the final against France. American audiences may know him from co-starring alongside Adam Sandler in the 2022 Netflix basketball film Hustle.
