A misspelled contract changed everything — when the Adelaide 36ers sent their hometown prospect a lowball offer addressed to Joesph, Ingles walked, became the first player ever signed by the South Dragons, and won NBL Rookie of the Year. Barcelona and a EuroLeague title with Maccabi Tel Aviv followed before the Jazz picked him up in October 2014 after the Clippers cut him in preseason. Eight seasons later he stood as the franchise's all-time leader in three-pointers made.
A fixture of the Australian national team who came up through the Australian Institute of Sport alongside Patty Mills, he gave up cricket and Australian rules football for basketball as a boy — and returned home to play for Melbourne United.
HOW HE CAME & WENTThe Clippers cut him days before opening night in 2014 and Utah claimed him on October 27. Eight seasons later he tore his ACL at Minnesota in January 2022, and the Jazz moved him to Portland at that deadline purely as salary — he never played a game for them.
