Loyalty defined George Hill before the NBA did — he turned down bigger schools for IUPUI in his native Indianapolis, keeping a promise tied to his ailing great-grandfather. San Antonio surprised the 2008 draft room by taking him 26th, and after five seasons with his hometown Pacers he was dealt to Utah in July 2016 for a year at the point.
A member of Indianapolis's famed 'Magnificent Seven' high school class alongside Greg Oden and Mike Conley Jr., Hill averaged a state-best 36.2 points as a senior at Broad Ripple. He later reached the 2018 NBA Finals with Cleveland.
HOW HE CAME & WENTHe came to Utah on July 7, 2016 in a three-team deal with Indiana and Atlanta, and left in free agency after one season.
