Johnny Juzang

Born in Los Angeles to a Creole father and a Vietnamese mother, Juzang played at Harvard-Westlake, spent a quiet freshman year at Kentucky, then transferred to UCLA. The move made him — he carried the Bruins to the 2021 Final Four, scoring 28 against top seed Michigan and 29 in the overtime semifinal loss to Gonzaga, and was a third-team All-American in 2022 before joining the Jazz from 2022 to 2024.

The transfer home was personal as much as athletic. He had been lonely at Kentucky, and the pandemic pulled him back toward family. His 137 points in the 2021 tournament rank second in UCLA history behind Gail Goodrich, and he now plays for Fenerbahce in Turkey and the EuroLeague.

HOW HE CAME & WENTUndrafted in 2022, he agreed to a two-way contract on draft night and later a four-year deal. Utah waived him on June 30, 2025, the deadline to guarantee his $2.84 million salary, after drafting Ace Bailey and Walter Clayton Jr.
