West Covina, California raised him and Idaho State trained him, and the 6-foot-10 center turned that into eight NBA seasons between 1979 and 1988 with the Suns, Cavaliers, Spurs and Jazz.

Utah was a two-game stop late in 1985-86. He retired with averages of 5.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game — a working big man's line, the kind that rarely makes headlines but kept him on NBA rosters for nearly a decade.

HOW HE CAME & WENTSan Antonio traded him and Marc Iavaroni to Utah for Jeff Wilkins on February 15, 1986, and the Jazz waived him that October.
