Jack Cooley

Rebounding paid this Notre Dame big man's way around the world. First-team All-Big East as a senior after averaging 13.1 points and 10.1 boards, Cooley went undrafted in 2013, and Utah gave him his best NBA look — two 10-day contracts in early 2015, a D-League record 29-rebound game for Idaho in between, and a multi-year deal that March.

The grind never let up: a two-way contract with Sacramento, seasons in Turkey, Spain, Germany and Italy, and finally Japan's Ryukyu Golden Kings, where he led the league at 13.3 rebounds per game and once posted 31 points and 21 boards in a single night.

HOW HE CAME & WENTUtah signed him in August 2014 and waived him in October, brought him back on two 10-day contracts in early 1995 -- then a multi-year deal in March -- and waived him again that October.
