One season was the whole of Darren Morningstar's NBA story, split between the Dallas Mavericks and the Utah Jazz in 1992–93. The 6-foot-10 center took an unusual road to get there, beginning his college career with the Navy Midshipmen before finishing at Pittsburgh, and Boston drafted him in the second round, 47th overall, in 1992.
Born in Pittsburgh in 1969, he left only a brief line in the league's ledger — one year in uniform, two teams — the kind of career that vanishes from the record almost as quickly as it began.
