A Kansas City kid who became a Kansas legend — starting small forward on the Jayhawks' 2008 national champions, MVP of the semifinal win over North Carolina, his No. 25 retired in 2017. Drafted 13th in 2008, he overcame two torn ACLs, the first suffered in a secret pre-draft workout arranged by Knicks scouts. A July 2013 three-team trade sent him with Andris Biedrins to Utah in the deal that made Andre Iguodala a Warrior.
Returning to Golden State in 2014 paid off with a championship ring in 2015 and a place on the record 73-win team. Minnesota came next, and his playing days wound down with Larisa in Greece.
HOW HE CAME & WENTHe landed in Utah on July 10, 2013 as salary in the three-team deal that sent Andre Iguodala to Golden State, and after one season he signed his way back to the Warriors.
