Bond went from undrafted out of Minnesota to scoring 25 points in just his second NBA game for the 1992-93 Mavericks. He joined the Jazz for the 1993-94 season and returned on two 10-day contracts in January 1995, part of a three-season NBA run of 153 regular-season games, and later starred in the CBA and in Germany, averaging 16.4 points for Leverkusen.

The talking came naturally afterward. The Chicago native worked on the Timberwolves' broadcast team, built a career as a motivational speaker, and hosted the Food Network series Giving You The Business, which premiered in 2013.

HOW HE CAME & WENTUndrafted, he won the last roster spot out of camp in November 1993. Utah waived him on December 3, 1994 to clear room for Jay Humphries, then brought him back on two 10-day contracts that January and did not re-sign him.
