Tommie Green

Southern University's point guard heard his name called by the New Orleans Jazz in the second round of the 1978 draft, 35th overall. His NBA career was a single season, 1978-79, spent entirely with the Jazz.

Home called him back. Green returned to Southern in 1987 as an assistant coach and later ran the program as head coach from 1996 to 2001. He died in September 2015 at age 59.

HOW HE CAME & WENTThe pick came to New Orleans in the Slick Watts trade, and the Jazz used it on the Louisiana product, 35th overall in 1978. He was waived in October 1979.

Fifty-nine games for the Jazz in 1978-79. Only photographs are known to exist, no trading card. He has since died, which closes the set permanently.
