A Chicago kid from Simeon Career Academy — his No. 5 jersey hangs retired at his grade school, St. Matthias — Horton-Tucker spent one season at Iowa State before the Lakers landed him in the 2019 second round. At 19 years and 322 days he became the second-youngest NBA champion ever when Los Angeles won the 2020 title. Traded to Utah in August 2022 for Patrick Beverley, he scored a career-high 41 points against San Antonio in March 2023.
Built like a puzzle — 6-foot-4 with a 7-foot-1 wingspan, one of the biggest such gaps in NBA history — he played a year for his hometown Bulls, then signed with Fenerbahce in 2025 and has thrived in the EuroLeague.
HOW HE CAME & WENTThe Lakers traded him and Stanley Johnson to Utah for Patrick Beverley on August 25, 2022. He picked up his $11 million option, and in 2024 the Jazz renounced his rights to clear cap room for Lauri Markkanen's new contract.
