Report cards mattered as much as box scores to him — a 4.0 student at Findlay Prep, where his teams went 124–8 with two national championships, and later an Academic All-American at Washington with a 3.74 GPA while leading the Huskies in scoring and assists as a sophomore. He transferred to Gonzaga in 2015, and Utah drafted the poised point guard 55th overall in 2017.
His NBA window with the Jazz came in 2019–20, but Europe is where he built the career — he now runs the point for Žalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania's top league and the EuroLeague.
HOW HE CAME & WENTUtah took him 55th overall in 2017 and he went to Europe instead. Two years later he bought out Olympiacos and signed with the Jazz on July 19, 2019.
