Ten days in March 2011 put this traveling center in a Jazz uniform, called up from the Austin Toros of the D-League. Cousin bloomed late — a reserve at Seton Hall, he transferred to Houston and delivered 10.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocks a game as a senior — but went undrafted in 2009.
What followed was one of basketball's great passport careers: Turkey, Israel, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Russia, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, Lebanon and five separate stints in Japan, where he averaged 14.5 points and 9.7 rebounds for the Kyoto Hannaryz in 2012–13. He was still suiting up for the Iwate Big Bulls in 2019.
HOW HE CAME & WENTHis one NBA opportunity was a 10-day contract with Utah on March 9, 2011. He was back in the D-League ten days later and never got another NBA deal.
