Louisville born and bred — Ballard High School, then the University of Louisville — Eaves reached the NBA for parts of four seasons in the early 1980s, spending the first three with the Jazz before stops in Atlanta and Sacramento.
He never really left home or the game. After a head coaching run at North Carolina A&T, he became head men's basketball coach and athletic director at Simmons College of Kentucky, back in Louisville. In 2020, television audiences watched him race across the world with his son Frank on The Amazing Race 32 — they finished ninth, the third team eliminated.
HOW HE CAME & WENTUtah drafted him 55th overall in 1982 and he debuted that October, staying two seasons before moving on to Atlanta.
