Jae Crowder

An overweight teenage quarterback in Villa Rica, Georgia, Crowder called his father Corey — a former NBA player then competing in Europe — to help him get in shape. The rebuilt frame took the junior-college route, won a national JUCO title at Howard College in 2010, then earned Big East Player of the Year at Marquette in 2012. Drafted 34th, he became one of the league's most traded forwards: Dallas, Boston, Cleveland, then Utah in 2018.

After the Jazz dealt him to Memphis in 2019, he reached back-to-back NBA Finals with different teams — Miami in 2020 and Phoenix in 2021. A falling-out with the Suns' front office soured that stop, and he most recently played for Vaqueros de Bayamon in Puerto Rico.

HOW HE CAME & WENTUtah acquired him on February 8, 2018 in a three-team deal with Cleveland and Sacramento, bringing the son to the franchise his father Corey played 51 games for. In June 2019 he went to Memphis in the package for Mike Conley.
