The 2023 Naismith Prep Player of the Year and a No. 1-rated recruit, Collier spent one season at USC before Utah drafted him 29th in 2024. As a rookie he took over at point guard and broke John Stockton's franchise rookie assist record, and in February 2026 he handed out 22 assists in a game, the most by any Jazz player since Stockton in 1992.
He learned the game at Wheeler High in Marietta, Georgia, playing for his uncle, Larry Thompson. A knee injury cost him a summer circuit in 2022, but he still left high school as Mr. Georgia Basketball and MVP of the Curry Camp.
