Henry Bibby

Starting point guard on three straight UCLA national champions from 1970 to 1972 under John Wooden, Bibby was one of only four players ever to start on three NCAA title teams. The Knicks drafted him in the fourth round and he won an NBA ring as a rookie in 1973. His season and a half with the New Orleans Jazz came mid-career, before two more Finals trips with Philadelphia in 1977 and 1980.

Coaching filled the decades after: two CBA championships, nine seasons as USC's head coach with an Elite Eight in 2001, and NBA assistant work. Brother Jim pitched in the majors and son Mike ran the point in the NBA — the two reconnected around 2002.

HOW HE CAME & WENTNew Orleans sent Jim Barnett and Neal Walk to New York on February 1, 1975 for Bibby and a first-round pick. The Jazz sold his rights to Philadelphia for cash on September 17, 1976, and he reached two NBA Finals there.
