Elliot Williams

Bad luck stalked Elliot Williams at every turn. A five-star recruit who played at Duke before finishing at Memphis, he went 22nd overall to Portland in 2010 — then lost his rookie season to a knee injury, much of the next to a dislocated shoulder, and all of 2012–13 to an Achilles tear. Utah gave him two 10-day contracts in January 2015.

The D-League saw his best. That April he helped Santa Cruz to its first championship and was named Finals MVP, and he closed his playing days with Panathinaikos in Greece and one last training camp with Golden State in 2016.

HOW HE CAME & WENTPortland's 22nd pick in 2010 reached Utah on a 10-day contract on January 7, 2015, signed a second on January 17, and when it expired the Jazz chose not to keep him.
