Elijah Hughes

One collector is trying to find a single signature from every man who ever played for the Jazz — all 370 of them, from the 1974 New Orleans team to today. For many of them, this page is the only one on the internet. Here is Elijah Hughes: what he did on the floor, a few things most people never knew, and every card that carries his name. If you have a better example of his signature, or a story about it, the note at the foot of this page still stands.

Beacon, New York knew Elijah Hughes from the courts of Loopers Park long before Syracuse made him a First Team All-ACC scorer at 19 points a game. Drafted 39th in 2020, he landed in Utah through a draft-rights trade and spent a season and a half between the Jazz bench and the Salt Lake City Stars before a February 2022 deal sent him to Portland.

The seasons since have been a suitcase life — the G League in Wisconsin and Cleveland, Spain with Breogán, Germany with Ludwigsburg, and Puerto Rico's Gigantes de Carolina by 2026. He remains a working pro, still chasing the game.

HOW HE CAME & WENTNew Orleans took him 39th overall in 2020 and traded his rights to Utah, who signed him that November. He went to Portland in a three-team deadline deal in February 2022.
