Few draft stories were stranger than Darius Bazley's. The McDonald's All-American from Ohio signed with Syracuse, then skipped college for a $1 million internship with New Balance before Utah drafted him 23rd overall in 2019 — and traded him immediately. Four seasons in Oklahoma City followed, with a career-high 29 points in 2022, then stops in Phoenix and Philadelphia.
The Jazz finally got him in uniform in March 2024, when he signed as a free agent and averaged 8.0 points across six late-season games. His road since has run through Guangdong and the G League, interrupted by a serious leg injury at the 2025 Summer League.
