Dayton's co-MVP as a senior, Johnson scratched out his NBA years the hard way — undrafted in 2012, then 10-day contracts with Memphis and Boston between D-League tours with Rio Grande Valley. Utah gave him his longest run: 82 games across two seasons, including his first full NBA campaign in 2015–16.
Overseas he became a fixture. He earned a Pro A monthly MVP award in France with Gravelines-Dunkerque, won the 2019 Israeli State Cup with Hapoel Jerusalem, and kept a steady career going in Israel and France well into his thirties, signing with Élan Chalon in 2025.
HOW HE CAME & WENTHe came in on a 10-day contract on January 28, 2015, was let go when it expired, and returned that March on a multi-year deal for his first full NBA season. Utah waived him on October 22, 2016 to cut the roster to the 15-man limit.
