Orlando's Lake Highland Prep produced him — Florida Mr. Basketball as a senior after losing his entire junior year to a knee injury, and once a 51-point scorer in an Ohio pro-am summer game. One season at Ohio State brought third-team All-Big Ten honors, and Utah called his name with the 28th pick of the 2023 draft.

The story is still being written. On January 14, 2026, he poured in a career-high 43 points against Chicago, setting an NBA record with 21 first-quarter points off the bench.

HOW HE CAME & WENTUtah took him 28th overall on June 22, 2023, their third first-round pick that night after Taylor Hendricks and Keyonte George. A knee injury and meniscus surgery that March had pushed the Ohio State scorer out of lottery range.
