One collector is trying to find a single signature from every man who ever played for the Jazz — all 370 of them, from the 1974 New Orleans team to today. For many of them, this page is the only one on the internet. Here is Blake Ahearn: what he did on the floor, a few things most people never knew, and every card that carries his name. If you own something he signed — or you know who might — there is a note at the foot of this page.
Free throws were his art form. Ahearn left Missouri State as college basketball's most accurate career foul shooter at 94.6 percent, then set a D-League record with 110 straight — where he was 2008 Rookie of the Year and became the league's all-time leading scorer. NBA chances came in slivers with Miami and San Antonio until Utah signed him in April 2012 and kept him through season's end.
The whistle came next. He took over the boys' program at Clayton High School in Missouri in 2015 and worked his way back up to the NBA bench as an assistant coach with the Memphis Grizzlies. Missouri State inducted him into its athletics hall of fame in 2016.
HOW HE CAME & WENTHe came in on a 10-day contract as Utah's third point guard when injuries emptied the roster, and on April 20 the Jazz kept him for the rest of the 2011-12 season.
