One collector is trying to find a single signature from every man who ever played for the Jazz — all 370 of them, from the 1974 New Orleans team to today. For many of them, this page is the only one on the internet. Here is Othyus Jeffers: what he did on the floor, a few things most people never knew, and every card that carries his name. Few men fought harder for their NBA minutes. Raised on Chicago's West Side, Jeffers lost two brothers to shootings and was himself shot in the leg defending his sister — yet he was back on a court within a month. Academically ineligible for a Division I scholarship at first, he went from junior college to Illinois-Chicago to NAIA Robert Morris, where The Sporting News named him NAIA Player of the Year. From the Iowa Energy of the D-League he earned call-ups to the Jazz, Spurs and Wizards.
Basketball eventually brought him home. After his playing days he returned to Robert Morris, the school that had taken him in, serving as its head coach from 2017 to 2019.
HOW HE CAME & WENTHe earned a 10-day contract on March 3, 2010 out of the D-League, stayed through summer league and camp, and was waived before the season.

OTHYUS JEFFERS · 6 NOTES- Was a D-League All-Star and made the D-League All-Defensive First Team in 2011.
- He left Hubbard High as its all-time leading rebounder, credited by the school with 1,987 career boards.
- In his only game for Talk 'N Text in the Philippine league he scored 38 points with 13 rebounds in a 105-99 win over Meralco.
- He and Ron Howard were named co-MVPs of the D-League in April 2014, six years after he entered it undrafted.
- Coach Tim Cone signed him in Manila in 2016 after tracking him for years on D-League game tape.
- Between 2010 and 2014 he collected ten-day contracts from Utah, San Antonio and Washington and a rest-of-season deal from Minnesota, going back to Iowa in between.
