Milt Palacio

Raised in Los Angeles by Belizean parents, Palacio went undrafted out of Colorado State in 1999 yet lasted seven NBA seasons. His signature moment came for Boston in December 2000 — a stolen pass and an off-balance 30-footer at the buzzer that beat New Jersey and earned him the nickname 'Miracle Milt.' A solid 2005–06 season with the Jazz closed out his NBA run.

He led Belize to CARICOM gold in 1998, won a triple crown with Partizan in Serbia and a Spanish title with Caja Laboral, then turned to coaching, reaching an NBA assistant's job with Portland in 2021. Colorado State inducted him into its athletics Hall of Fame in 2023.

HOW HE CAME & WENTUtah signed him in September 2005 as a veteran backup for rookie Deron Williams. He had left-knee cleanup surgery that April and wanted to stay, but the Jazz traded three guards for Derek Fisher and he was gone.
