Syracuse still lists him among its all-time leaders — the first freshman ever to lead the Big East in minutes, and the school's career steals leader. The Los Angeles point guard worked through ten NBA seasons, his best year coming in Charlotte in 2004-05 at 9.5 points and 5.0 assists a game. Utah signed him to a two-year, $5 million deal in 2007 to back up Deron Williams.
Coaching runs through the second act: from Taft High in Los Angeles to Pepperdine and USC, then head coach of the G League Ignite until the program folded in 2024, and now an assistant at Kentucky. He married his high school sweetheart, Brandi, and they have two sons.
HOW HE CAME & WENTHe signed a two-year, $5 million contract on July 13, 2007, and was traded to Golden State a year later for Brevin Knight.
