Undrafted out of Alabama, he took the long road — a season in Spain — before the Jazz signed him in 1991, and the smooth-jumping forward spent six seasons at small forward alongside Stockton and Malone, even placing fourth in the 1993 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. After stops in New Jersey, Orlando and two years with Maccabi Tel Aviv, he returned to Utah in 2000 to close his NBA book where it opened.
He then won a Chinese league title with the Shanghai Sharks playing beside a young Yao Ming, and finished his career in Japan. His jersey hangs retired at Lafayette High in Louisiana, and UFC champion Daniel Cormier is his cousin.
HOW HE CAME & WENTUndrafted, he signed as a free agent in 1991 and became a rotation regular for five seasons. Utah replaced him with Chris Morris in the summer of 1996 and he signed with New Jersey that August.
